Free Church is a family, a community, and a place of worship where people from all backgrounds, cultures, and generations come together to encounter God, grow in faith, and walk in true freedom. Rooted in God’s Word, we embrace the Acts 2 vision, building a strong, God-centered community through sound doctrine, passionate worship, prayer, and holy communion.
Our Founding Pastors
Pastors Doug & Sheila Shackelford
Pastors Doug and Sheila Shackelford are the visionary leaders of Free Church, bringing over 30 years of ministry experience to their mission of spreading God’s love and truth. Married for three decades, they are proud parents of three sons—Luke, Trent, and Grant—and have dedicated their lives to serving the body of Christ.
Their ministry journey began as Children’s Pastors in the Church of God, later transitioning into impactful roles as Youth Pastors, including at Faith World (now Judah Church). Pastor Doug has held significant leadership positions, serving as Associate Pastor and Lead Pastor at renowned churches such as Judah Church with Pastor Clint Brown, Masters Touch International Church with Bishop Mark Chironna, and City of Destiny with Pastor Paula White-Cain. In 2006, Pastor Doug launched Strategic Ministries, a nationwide consulting ministry dedicated to equipping and empowering churches to fulfill their God-given missions.
With a wealth of experience across all areas of ministry—both as staff and consultant—Pastors Doug and Sheila are passionate about building a multicultural, multigenerational church community at Free Church that thrives on worship, prayer, communion, and the Word of God. Their leadership and dedication inspire a church family united by faith, purpose, and a shared commitment to glorify Christ.
